A Specialty for Special Companies: Updatable Directory Website
A few of our non-profit customers had a need for a website that includes a list of programs or services for their audience. These resource listings need to be updated and the staff wanted to be able to maintain the information from the convenience of a web browser and without having to learn specialized software and web design skills. Through our experience with this type of application and the toolset that Lizard Revolution has built up, we can quickly put together an online directory for your organization. Key features include:
- Program listings: Use an easy-to-understand word processor-like editing area to enter and update your program and resource listings. We take care of making the look of your site consistent - you edit the parts that are different. No HTML or other technical information is required.
- Customizable pages: Create new pages, update existing ones, and delete unneeded ones. Tailor your website to meet the interests and needs of your special audience.
- Event calendar: Enter events in an online calendar. We will program the calendar to automatically purge old entries after a time period you specify.
- Images and file attachments: Increase the visual appeal and value of your pages by including photos/drawings/logos and documents for download.
- Configurable: Control the contents of keyword lists, layout of the navigator, and adjust other parameters that control how the website works.
- Search functions: Your website will be full-text indexed and support both simple search and advanced search features.
- Feedback: Web users can fill in a form that's delivered by email to an address you designate. You can keep the email address confidential to cut down on spam.
- Security: All administrative functions on the website are password-protected so only authorized people can access them. Maintain your website from a web browser on any computer with Internet access.
- Reports and publications: Use special tools in the website to easily create a listing of programs suitable for printing, see which program listings are due for review/updating , and create email and mailing label lists of program contacts.

- Automatic notifications: You can arrange for your staff - or content owners outside your organization - to receive automatic email messages. These might be reminders to periodically review the directory information, summaries of upcoming calendar entries, or other information that needs to be sent out on a periodic basis.
- Workflow: Custom forms can be added for use by your staff or your clients. These can tie in to workflow processes in your organization. For instance, someone might enter a request online, a staff member claims it or assigns it. When completed, the request is marked finished. Tracking screens let staff see open requests and managers see whether a request is overdue.
